Daniel Craig as James Bond

Many people know Daniel Craig as James Bond, the star of the two latest 007 movies Casino Royale (2006) and Quantum of Solace (2008).

Craig is a popular English actor and movie producer. He is the second Englishman to play the character of James Bond after Roger Moore.

Craig was known for being the third actor, after George Lazenby and Timothy Dalton, to attempt to accurately portray the literary Bond character from the Ian Fleming novels.

With Daniel Craig as James Bond, the series began a new era after a four year hiatus. Craig’s first Bond film, Casino Royale released in 2006, was a huge success and became the highest grossing James Bond movie.

His second outing as Agent 007 in Quantum of Solace (2008)was also extremely successful at the Box Office.

The new James Bond movie, Skyfall, will be released in November 2012. Once again we will see Daniel Craig as James Bond 007 and Dame Judi Dench as M.

Biography

Daniel Craig was born in Chester, England, and at the age of 4 moved to Liverpool. He then moved to Hoylake, on the Wirral Peninsula, when he was 9. Here, he attended Hilbre High School and Calday Grange Grammar School.

At the age of 16, Craig moved to London and joined the National Youth Theatre. He later went to the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in the Barbican Estate and graduated after three years of study in 1991.

Craig’s first major role was in the highly acclaimed film The Power of One in 1992 where he played Sergeant Botha.

Until the late 1990’s he mainly appeared in television series. Some of his early roles were in Zorro, an action adventure series, and Sharpe’s Eagle, a British military drama.

After this time, Craig began to regularly feature in movies and began playing prominent roles on most occasions.

In recent years many people know Daniel Craig as James Bond, but he has also starred in many other movies including:

Cowboys and Aliens is set in Silver City, Arizona, where Apache Indians and Western colonists must join forces when an alien spacecraft makes a crash landing.
