James Bond Girls:
The Remarkable Women Of 007

James Bond girls are a vital part of the Bond film series, usually acting as objects of affection and often playing major roles. There are many classic moments in James Bond movies where 007 girls have ‘lit up’ the screen.

Some of these moments include George Lazenby meeting ‘Blofeld’s Angels of Death’ for dinner in On Her Majesty’s Secret Service (1969), and Daniel Craig watching Solange ride her horse along the beach in Casino Royale (2006).

James Bond girls often test Agent 007’s ability and challenge him to rise to their level. They are attractive yet tough and confident in their approach to the world knowing precisely how to reach their goals.

Often saved by 007 from precarious situations, James Bond women are regularly victims, associates, villains, or mistresses.

Their role in the Bond series has gradually changed over time, becoming more profound, and benefiting from an increased independence. An example of this is the villain, Elektra King (played by Sophie Marceau), in The World Is Not Enough (1999).
