James Bond Villains Have
Daring Plans To Change The World

James Bond villains are renowned for their larger than life personalities.

They are usually business leaders, media tycoons or industry executives and are always highly inventive in their plans.

Often their dreams are to conquer the world with intentions of untold human suffering.

Prominent 007 villains such as Ernst Stavro Blofeld, Hugo Drax and Alec Trevelyan set in motion epic schemes to transform the planet.

They often live an extravagant lifestyle and reside in beautiful residences. One of the famous locales was that of villain Francisco Scaramanga (Christopher Lee) who lived on a secret island in the South China Sea. Filming for these scenes took place at the picturesque Khao Phing Kan in Phang Nga Bay, Thailand, now commonly referred to as James Bond Island.

More often than not there is a worthy accomplice who is an imposing threat to James Bond. These include the insidious Odd Job with his lethal bowler hat (Goldfinger), and Jaws with his menacing steel teeth (The Spy Who Loved Me and Moonraker).

With the help of loyal and charismatic henchman James Bond villains often come close to carrying out their evil plans. As a rule they are often too big for the world with Agent 007 on hand to halt their grand ambitions.

In Goldfinger (1964) the powerful villain Auric Goldfinger comes up with a plan to contaminate the U.S. gold reserves at Fort Knox, Kentucky, to significantly increase the value of his own gold supplies.
Ernst Stavro Blofeld builds a shuttle base inside an inactive volcano in Japan in You Only Live Twice (1967). He then secretly captures Soviet and American space craft with his own shuttle Bird 1 in order to instigate a world war.
In The Spy Who Loved Me (1977) Karl Stromberg lives in a spectacular underwater home known as Atlantis. He uses his supertanker, the Liparus, to capture foreign nuclear submarines so he can initiate a war that will destroy humanity on earth.

James Bond Villains - Michael Lonsdale and Curt Jurgens

Sir Hugo Drax launches his own space craft from a hidden Brazilian base in Moonraker (1979). He then sends select humans to his private space station and plans to start a new master-race on earth after killing mankind with a deadly nerve gas.
In A View to a Kill (1985) Max Zorin plans to destroy California's Silicon Valley in order to wipe out 80% of the world's microchip manufacturers. To meet his objectives he organises a catastrophic earthquake that will cause a deadly flood.
Gustav Graves plans to invade South Korea and Japan in Die Another Day (2002) in order for North Korea to become a world superpower. He plans to use his Icarus satellite weapon to 'burn' a path through the demilitarised zone into South Korea.
In Quantum of Solace (2008) the crafty villain Dominic Greene gives assistance to failed dictator General Medrano in order to take ownership of a pierce of desolate Bolivian land and control the country's water supplies.
