On Her Majesty's Secret Service is one of the most popular James Bond films and features spectacular action scenes set against beautiful European scenery.
George Lazenby steps into the role of Agent 007 and is superb in the portrayal of Bond as characterised in the Ian Fleming novels.
007 utilises the intelligence of crime leader Marc Ange Draco (Ferzetti) in order to determine the whereabouts of the evil head of SPECTRE, Ernst Stavro Blofeld.
Bond is led to the impressive Piz Gloria set atop the Swiss mountains. Here he discovers Blofeld’s technologically advanced operation set up to destroy strains of plants and animals throughout the world.
Bond encounters many alluring women in On Her Majesty's Secret Service, but it is Draco’s daughter, Tracy (Rigg), who he is devoted to. Bond admires Tracy’s independence and spirit of adventure.

Bond: ‘It's all right. It's quite all right, really. She's having a rest. We'll be going on soon. There's no hurry, you see. We have all the time in the world.’
In On Her Majesty's Secret Service, a lady was trying to commit suicide by walking completely dressed into the ocean and drowning. Driving by the coast in his flash Aston Martin DBS, Agent 007 stopped suddenly and ran into the sea to save her from sudden death.
The woman was the undisciplined child of crime magnate Marc Ange Draco and was rather attractive - her name was Teresa di Vicenzo and was called Tracy.
Draco was trying to find a husband to rein in his unruly daughter and had an idea that Bond would be just the person. Although 007 was unconvinced, Draco had a carrot to dangle before Bond - knowledge of the location of Ernst Stavro Blofeld.
A Fine Allergy Clinic
With helicopter and cable car the only means
of access, Blofeld had created a remote and select allergy clinic high up in the
Bernese Alps in Switzerland. Agent 007 chose to go and see him disguised as Sir
Hilary Bray, an expert in genealogy.
Piz Gloria atop the Schilthorn in Switzerland's Bernese Alps
In On Her Majesty's Secret Service, Blofeld’s base was called Piz Gloria and looked like a clinic for allergy treatment. However, all the patients were intriguingly fine-looking women. 007 was able to come across the truth - all the girls were actually being brainwashed into transporting lethal diseases that were being produced in the underground workshops of Piz Gloria.
James Bond, acting as an undercover genealogist from The College of Arms in London, questioned why the clinic was so strongly protected - there were armed guards in and around the complex. Blofeld’s rather wicked second in command, Irma Bunt, advised Bond that the guards were used to protect the institute from spying.
Secret Spotting
Agent 007 caught sight of Tracy near the water
using the telescopic view from a rifle. The weapon was just one of his Aston
Martin’s unique qualities - it was stored in the glove box of the vehicle.
Beach Rescue
James Bond had a fierce run in with some vicious
bandits after saving Tracy from drowning in the sea - these thugs were actually
working for her father. Tracy was scampering to her car by the time 007 was able
to end the struggle. Nevertheless, Bond had the feeling they would see each
again in the future.
Marc Ange Draco
Draco was the father of Tracy and chief of the
crime organisation known as the Union Corse. He yearned for her to marry a
gentleman like 007 and settle down in her life. Draco subsequently came forward
with information concerning the major villain, Blofeld.

Nice Act
When Tracy lost a huge amount at the casino, 007 once more
came to her rescue. She was then interested to know why Bond was trying to help
her.
The Threat of Blofeld
In On Her Majesty's Secret Service, Ernst Stavro Blofeld
longed for absolution from previous crimes and for the title of a nobleman. As
usual, he would let nothing get in his way to achieve his high objectives.
Blofeld had changed his facial look by using plastic surgery - this included cutting off his earlobes in order to replicate one of the distinguishing features of the early Bleuchamp people.
Angels of Death
Blofeld had been able to produce a germ that caused
plants and animals to become infertile. He planned to devastate food supplies
around the globe by dispersing the disease via his patients.
Known as his “angels of death”, these were a small number of beautiful women from diverse nations whom he had been able to successfully brainwash.
Noxious Gift
Upon completion of the allergy programme each patient
was given a gift pack that included a special sprayer holding the bacteria and a
receiver concealed in a makeup style compact. This was to allow Blofeld to give
out orders when the time came.

Safecracker
To determine the intentions of Blofeld, Agent 007
secretly opened a safe owned by the lawyer for Blofeld, by means of an
extraordinary device. The safecracker, created by Q, had to be dispensed in a
suitcase by crane as it was that bulky - it was one of Bond's most useful
gadgets in On Her Majesty's Secret Service.
The Crest of a Criminal
Blofeld declared he should hold the
prestigious title of Count de Bleuchamp. The Bleuchamp family motto was: “Of the
air and soaring”.
Nerve Centre
In On Her Majesty's Secret Service, the lethal
germs created by Blofeld were cultivated in-house in purpose built laboratories,
deep within Piz Gloria. 007 quickly realised that the planet would be much safer
if the entire base was demolished.
The Dramatic Escape
Agent 007 had to flee Piz Gloria quickly when
Blofeld discovered his true identity. After managing to escape he was chased by
Blofeld’s men in a spectacular down hill ski sequence, before arriving at a
small mountain village.
Here he met up with Tracy and together they escaped in her Ford Cougar. After a riveting chase along snowy roads, they spent the night in a hay loft, where Bond later proposed.

Support from Draco
Tracy was apprehended by Blofeld after he set
off an avalanche in which Bond was able to escape. Brought to Piz Gloria, Tracy
acted as if she enjoyed the sleazy moves from Blofeld whilst waiting to be
rescued.
Luckily, 007 and her father, Marc Ange Draco, came to the rescue in quick time. Bond had teamed up with Draco and his special team of men to save Tracy and wipe out Blofeld’s base.
Retribution
After surviving the battle of Piz Gloria, Blofeld
dreamed of retribution after watching Bond destroy his evil intentions, and
witnessing Tracy refuse his charming moves. In On Her Majesty's Secret
Service, Blofeld was resolute in taking revenge after hearing the news that
Tracy and Bond were going to marry.
Callous Shooting
Not long after the wedding, Tracy and Bond were
driving away on a picturesque coastal road when tragedy struck. A car driven by
Blofeld careened past and from the rear seat Irma Bunt opened fire with a
machine gun.
Tracy had been cruelly murdered. "We have all the time in the world", 007 then whispered. The ending to On Her Majesty's Secret Service is one of the saddest of the James Bond movie series.
