INTERESTING FEATURESAndrea Anders In The Man with the Golden Gun, James Bond was dispatched to find Francisco Scaramanga after Andrea Anders, Scaramanga’s lover, transmitted a gold bullet to MI6 that was engraved with 007. She was tired of the evil ploys Scaramanga was constantly involved in and eventually suffered the dire consequences for abandoning her wicked boyfriend. Lazar Lazar was a crooked gunsmith, located in Macau that MI6 tracked down after receiving a golden bullet. Agent 007 forced him to divulge that a shipment of ammunition for Scaramanga was to be picked up by Andrea Anders in the near future. Closely Watched Agent 007 was in no doubt Andrea would directly guide him to Scaramanga. So he tagged along after her on a hydrofoil to the world class Peninsula Hotel in Hong Kong.
The Golden Gun Scaramanga’s golden gun could be put together with four simple items: a cuff link, a pen, a lighter, and a cigarette case. This was his distinctive 4.2 calibre gold-plated handgun. Mary Goodnight The reliable and tolerant Mary Goodnight went through two ordeals in The Man with the Golden Gun in her duties as an MI6 agent. Firstly, she endured a night in a wardrobe whilst Bond was intimate with Andrea Anders; and secondly, she suffered being trapped in the boot of Scaramanga’s vehicle for a lengthy period. Murder in the Street On his search for the cunning villain, James Bond saw the actions of Scaramanga when he witnessed the killing of Gibson, an expert on solar energy. The police suspected 007 despite a tiny, weird looking person lingering close to the site of the crime, near a seedy nightspot. Nick Nack Scaramanga’s devious henchman, known for his distinctive voice and calm temperament, was the petite Nick Nack.
He was more than capable of carrying out his duties for his master in The Man with the Golden Gun, and succeeded in frustrating 007 on a number of occasions. Hai Fat Using the services of Scaramanga to murder Gibson and take possession of the Solex Agitator, Hai Fat was an entrepreneur of Hong Kong. In due course, Scaramanga would coolly take him out. Chula James Bond used less traditional methods to overcome Chula when confronting him. In the kung fu school owned by Hai Fat, Chula was a professional in martial arts. Crossing the River in Style One of the great scenes in The Man with the Golden Gun is when James Bond pulls off a remarkable feat whilst pursuing Scaramanga. In order to keep on the path of the villain he drove off a partially wrecked bridge and soared over a river to come down safely on the adjacent riverbank.
Sheriff Pepper The police chief, Sheriff J. W. Pepper, became involved in Bond’s chase of Scaramanga when he was in Bangkok with his wife holidaying. During Live and Let Die he was somewhat embarrassed by Agent 007 in the bayous of Louisiana. Flying Car Scaramanga completed a miraculous airborne escape after being trapped by 007 in a farm building. He flew off into oblivion after his AMC Matador car swiftly grew wings. Francisco Scaramanga MI6 were unaware of what Scaramanga looked like as they had no pictures of him. However, they knew he had a third nipple and was a killer who was rather proud of only requiring one bullet to take a person’s life. Scaramanga was a lonely malicious person, yet had his style. Agent 007 incredibly disliked him and his approach to life. Scaramanga thought highly of Bond and set aside a dummy of Bond at his remote hideaway isle.
House of Fun Solar powered throughout, the secret island of Scaramanga contained all the latest electrical appliances. In addition, he owned a treacherous solar driven weapon with the capability of emitting a powerful beam of light. One of the features of The Man with the Golden Gun was Scaramanga's special Fun House - this was a large room that had a deadly maze of mirrors and lethal dummies and was the highlight of his island. The skilful killer practiced here, in unique combats coordinated by his loyal henchman Nick Nack. Starting on the island beach, Bond had a combat with Scaramanga that ended with Scaramanga being outfoxed in the Fun House. Solex Agitator Producing huge supplies of energy that could be utilised in a variety of ways; the Solex Agitator was a petite apparatus that passed on energy from the sun to thermal generators. Scaramanga set fire to James Bond’s seaplane, nestled on the beach below, to display the power of his solar weapon.
Solar Panes The energy supply for Scaramanga’s home was from panes of solar that were mounted high above a tall boulder a short distance away in the sea. Luxurious Dinner Prepared by Nick Nack, Mary Goodnight and Agent 007 dined in style in Scaramanga’s exquisite home. After lunch Scaramanga challenged Bond to a deadly duel. Outsmarted Nick Nack was incapable of finding Bond on surveillance cameras which meant he was unable to alert Scaramanga. This was due to 007 steering clear of the easy pathway inside the Fun House and scaling down the set to a different platform.
