Tomorrow Never Dies sees James Bond (Pierce Brosnan) opposed to a world dominating media mogul whose wife has a past with Bond.
Agent 007 finds that Elliot Carver (Pryce) is controlling international news through his sophisticated satellite scheme.
In an effort to foil Carver’s perilous plot Bond partners with Wai Lin (Yeoh), a Chinese agent. Along the way 007 restores a past relationship with Carver’s wife, Paris (Hatcher).
In Tomorrow Never Dies, Bond evades several henchmen in style, including Stamper (Otto), with the help of a few innovative gadgets.
Wai Lin and Bond are subsequently caught by Stamper and sent to Saigon where they make a daring escape by motorcycle along the city roof tops.
With remarkable perseverance they take over Carver’s dangerous stealth vessel, and in an action packed finale, thwart Carver’s plan for World War III.

Carver: ‘Mr. Jones, are we ready to release our new software?’
Jones: ‘Yes, sir. As requested, it's full of bugs, which means people
will be forced to upgrade for years.’
Carver: ‘Outstanding.’
Bond: ‘You were pretty good with that hook.’
Wai-Lin:
‘Thanks. It comes from growing up in a rough neighbourhood. You were pretty good
on the bike.’
Bond: ‘Thank you. It comes from not growing up at
all.’
Disbelief
Elliot Carver found it hard to believe Paris when she
said she barely knew Bond. He became suspicious and had her closely watched
leading to her downfall.
Wai
Lin
Working for the Chinese People’s External Security Force, Wai
Lin, played the role of the main James Bond girl in Tomorrow Never Dies.
She was an agent seeking to determine the mystery behind Elliot Carver and his
empire.
Michelle Yeoh is Colonel Wai Lin

Wai Lin performed at her best on her own and was a superb combat fighter. She had no confidence in 007 at the outset, however, they later worked great together in bringing down the enemy.
Paris Carver
Paris was the beautiful wife of Elliot Carver and a
former girlfriend of Bond. She sensed her husband was up to no good and became
intimate with 007.
Teri Hatcher is Paris Carver

This led to her giving Bond valuable information. Unfortunately she had been under surveillance and suffered a cruel death by Dr. Kaufman.
Dr. Kaufman
Working for Carver, Kaufman was a skilled assassin
whose polite nature concealed his true character. He gained great satisfaction
when he tormented people with Chakra torture. After murdering Paris, he was
killed by Bond in a Hamburg hotel.
Elliot
Carver
The key villain of Tomorrow Never Dies was Elliot
Carver - a British media magnate who would let nothing get in his path of
worldwide domination. He liked to masquerade as a goodwill ambassador and
saviour for humankind.
Jonathan Pryce is Elliot Carver

Carver took great pleasure in launching his cutting-edge news network with an alarming international incident - the murder of British sailors from a Navy vessel in the South China Sea.
Mr Stamper
The super imposing Stamper was a brutal henchman for
Carver. He was trained by Dr. Kaufman to carry out brutal torture of victims
using Chakra techniques.
BMW R1200
Although handcuffed together, Wai Lin and 007 were able
to escape capture from Carver in Saigon - one of the great action sequences of
Tomorrow Never Dies.
The BMW R1200 motorbike

Together they rode a powerful BMW R1200 motorbike and worked superbly as a team in evading the enemy.
Henry Gupta
Gupta arranged for the HMS Devonshire to be
guided into enemy waters and encoded a missile to wipe out Beijing. He was a
radical IT genius and crucial to Carver’s evil objectives. He is eventually
killed by Carver after he was deemed to have outlived his usefulness.
Remote Control Car
The amazing BMW 750iL, featured in Tomorrow
Never Dies, was one of the best gadgets of the James Bond movie series. It
had a plethora of weapons and, using a mobile phone, could be operated by remote
control.

In addition it featured a fabulous system to stop the would-be thief - it gave out a powerful electric shock which could easily knock someone to the ground.
Clever Moves
When Wai Lin and 007 were chased in their motorbike
they became cornered in a street. As an armed helicopter drew near, Bond drove
the bike directly at the enemy and slid below its rotor blades allowing them to
escape.
Then on a whim 007 flung a rope over the rotor blades on the tail of the helicopter causing it to swerve into a nearby dwelling and explode.
HALO Jump
Bond performed a High Altitude Low Opening (HALO) jump
over the South China Sea in order to find the HMS Devonshire shipwreck.
This was the only way to access the ship without being seen by radar.

This dangerous manoeuvre required Agent 007 to free fall over the ocean from above radar limits and enter the water at breakneck speed. Luckily, Bond was able to survive the jump and locate the vessel in quick time.
Stealth Ship
The key device in Carver’s scheme to create a global
war was the Stealth Ship. This incredible craft was practically invisible on
radar.
The vessel was used to fire a missile at a Chinese fighter jet and a powerful sea drill was released from here to bring about the sinking of the HMS Devonshire.
